At the heart of the Tournament Grinder’s design is Daiwa’s latest design innovation, X45 wrap technology. X45 means that the carbon fibre is cross wrapped and delivers ultimate strength, power, and weightlessness, resulting in a slim blank that eliminates blank twist and massively increases torque and reduces blank recoil when casting.

This design allows the blank to return to its straight form quickly, in turn delivering faster acceleration and longer, more responsive casting. By combining HVF (High Volume Fibre) carbon with X45 construction, Daiwa have created a powerful, lightweight blank with more responsiveness and sensitivity than ever before.

With all this extra power, the join in the rod features Daiwa’s V-Joint. This allows the ferrule to flex, eliminating weak or flat spots, ensuring the 4 piece blank matches the flex, power and responsiveness of a one-piece blank.
